Weaning bib. How to stop clothes getting messy?!

Hello, I am weaning my baby and using a silicone bib, problem is the food and drink keeps slipping under his chin and getting through to his clothes at the top. Resulting in change of top and vest every time he eats. Anyone else had this problem and tips to make it less of a workload and mess. Thank you

I didn't even bother with bibs for DS2.

If you're going out after food, don't give them anything too messy. If you're not going out after food, keep them in their mucky clothes until next meal.

My DC are far beyond this age now but we used either the long sleeved fabric ones as mentioned above, or just a muslin tied around their neck.
I never used a pelican bib as I used to work in nurseries and always hated needing to get the food out afterwards. I preferred to use a muslin on their laps too.

Large muslin on front tied behind neck ( if big enough covers entire lap and most of legs) with long sleeved bib over it. None of my children ever got dirty clothes using this method. Saved on washing and also great when staying at nice hotels etc.
