Father refuses to see son?

Hello,

Title says it all really - my ex last saw my DS when he was 10 months old. My son is 5 in a few weeks.

Until the summer, my ex has blocked me on every form of communication and only unblocked me when I did an application for child maintenance! He refuses to engage in a discussion re seeing our son, says he wants to see him but won’t commit or give a date.

He’s in a new relationship (found out they’ve just bought a house and have a cat!) and I feel he’s just burying his head in the sand, forgetting our son exists and enjoying his new life.

Any ideas of what I should do? He’s blocked me again and my brother has tried messaging him with no response.

thanks xx

Maybe it's for the best that you forget he even exists

That’s what I’m thinking! X

You can’t make him, no one could. I’m sure you’re doing a great job bringing your son up, he doesn’t need anyone in his life who isn’t interested in him.

There is nothing you can do. Focus on the things you can make better for you and your son. It's your ex's loss.

Thank you! I guess I just feel sad for my son, he’s so amazing and cute, I don’t want him to feel rejected 😞

Aw enjoy your lovely son. I know several children who have grown up with uninvolved fathers (inc my own daughter) and are both happy and secure. I really believe one good parent is enough 👍

Thank you so much, that’s lovely to hear and just what I needed ♥️

I can't see any good coming out of your son having to deal with such a loser.
