Baby rash- any idea?

My 8 month old DD has little spots pretty much all over her body including her feet. They aren't very red or angry and she doesn't seem bothered by them. She was out of sorts yesterday but with moments of brightness. She has felt warm a few times but not spiking a fever. We have done the glass test and the spots do blanch.

Any ideas?

Also she was sick a couple of times yesterday but has been keeping her feeds down since yesterday afternoon

Hand foot and mouth maybe?

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 06/11/2022 07:51

Or a viral rash or a reaction to baby bath /soap?

Yes I do think it is viral as she wasn't herself yesterday and was sick a couple of times. Spots don't look like the hand foot and mouth images I have seen. Wondered if anyone had seen similar?

Hmm I wouldn’t be surprised if that was in fact HFM OP. It’s really doing the rounds at the moment.

Thank you. She has a few little spots all over her body though, could it still be HFM?

Afraid so, DS had lots on his torso, they then spread to hands and feet. He did have an awful fever with it as well though.

My daughter had an undiagnosed rash last year, hers was accompanied by a temp and the doctor thought possibly hfm but wasn't sure. She had the rash/spots all up her legs and on her tummy too. It definitely wasn't chicken pox. Her rash didn't look like this though - I've seen a few children with hfm and I'm convinced that's what your dd has, but I'm not a doctor and it's always harder to portray rashes and spots in photos. How is she in herself today?

MaverickSnoopy · 06/11/2022 08:10

Sorry that should say I'm NOT CONVINCED.

HFM

Gistbury · 06/11/2022 08:14

She seems bright and happy this morning and was the same yesterday really- she slept much more than usual and she was more fractious (she usually doesn't really cry but did on a few occasions yesterday). She is fine in herself in the times in between sleep. I'll see how she goes this morning and call 111 if she gets worse I think

Not 100% convinced but HFM? My daughter had it recently but was quite bad but she's older. I'd get a GP appointment.

MrsSkylerWhite · 06/11/2022 12:31

Has she had her vaccinations?

Has she had her vaccinations?

Yes all up to date. It seems to be disappearing hopefully 🤞🏻 she's so bright and happy in herself that I'm less worried than I was this morning. Will phone the GP if she is still not right tomorrow thanks

Is this chicken pox?

OP posts:
Gistbury · 07/11/2022 06:40

They look a bit different this morning- so you think it might be chicken pox?

Are they fluid filled?
