Would love some recommendations for the best sort of beaker or cup for transitioning a 12 month old from formula to cows milk? Dentist has said switch from bottles as soon as possible.

We used the munchkin weighted straw cup for milk. Luckily my DS took to it straight away. He has lots of other straw cups and beakers for water but kept this one as milk only so it became a bedtime signal.

Have you tried just an open cup? Will take some supervision, but it's good for them to learn anyway. DD 16mo is amazing with hers now

Hi @mummybythecoast Thanks for posting. I just wanted to pop in and share the link to our Best sippy cups article, as you may find it useful. The page was created with the help of recommendations from Mumsnet users and researching consumer reviews. Do let us know if it was helpful.

I like the munchkin 360 cups.
Open cups are a fucking nightmare in my house, even with a now 3 year old. I do them outside in the garden etc at every opportunity. My kid just loves watching what happens when you tip it upside down and it drives me insane so we do mostly closed cups in the house.

Thank you so much! @ExhaustedMama68 @Duckseasonrabbitseason @TeaAndJaffacakes @LouiseGMumsnet She will happily drink water from a 360 Munchin and from a Bbox weighted straw sippy cup but won’t take milk from either of these! But will take it from a Mam bottle with teat… not sure what to try next?! She’s quite good with an open cup and has this at meal times but dont think she’s ready for this at bedtime… any other thoughts?!

You need a free flow cup so she's sipping not sucking. Best for teeth, particularly with milk. The cheap tommee tippee essentials first cup is the best. They are about £1 in Asda so don't get ripped of on Amazon.
