Morning everyone. I just wondered if anyone knew of a goood kids hairdresser in the portsmouth area. Took ds the other day to usual one where he kicked and screamed and it clearly would have been dangerous to carry on (was worried about scissors in eye etc). he has been before and been ok but this time is adamant he won't go.
I have left it and left it but now it is so messy and long. He was mistaken for a girl on Sunday which bothers me less than the messy urchin and uncared for look it gives him.
I could do it myself but am not confident in regards to safety or style!!!
Thanks xx

There is a barber called Razors Edge in Portsmouth and Southsea Station - actually in the station itself. That's where I take DS (22m) and they are very good, quick and efficient. They do do "hairdressing" rather than just classic barbering (if you don't want him to have a short back and sides )

And it was £6.50

Thanks yummylittlelapin,I think dh has been there. Just went through yellow pages and very few advertise themselves as even doing kids hair. I suppose because it is hard work for little profit!!

I was very pleased with them, they have booster cushions and are quick, but it was a proper haircut IYSWIM

Might give them a try then! Thanks again.

my ds used to be awful .. the only way we can get him to have his done is to let him watch a dvd at the same time. Luckily there is a hairdressers near us with a kids corner where he can sit and watch a film. Honestly, worth a try!

Thanks bodiddly...there don't seem to be any really child friendly ones. I took ds to one yummylittlelapin suggested and was a real success. Gave a lolly too and were really patient unlike the snotty looks I got in cutting crew around the corner!!!! Thanks yummylittlelapin. I now have a presentable little boy!!
