6yo’s behaviour

Hi, my 6yo daughter appears quite confident (sometimes overly). She is great at school, but her behaviour at home is a struggle sometimes.
But my issue at the moment is that she gets very upset and clingy when my husband and I go to any event that she is doing. For example, her class had an open morning to see their learning, and the second my husband appeared she clung to him, cried and didn’t want to show anything. Today she had a dance show and again was fine with us not there, but the second she saw us, she clung to me, cried and said she wasn’t going to do it. Yet she appears so confident in so many ways and we are told by her teachers that she is confident in class etc. any suggestions what we can do other than not turn up for events?! Thanks 😊

Get her to do the tiniest smallest thing infront of you and praise like crazy. Then keep repeating and she might start to loosen whatever belief or resistance she has in likely wanting to please her biggest fans and instead of doing nothing she will learn you both love it.
