4 year old with constipation issues

My four year old has struggled with constipation for years and was on mirilax for a long time about a year ago. But he's been doing so well lately that we stopped the mirilax. He was going very regular then just stopped. For about 3-4 days. I gave mirilax and pedialax and he started going little bits and real mushy and always getting a little in his underwear which never happens! Then last night began crying of stomach pain! So I gave a suppository and he went a good bit and slept well. Now again he is saying his tummy hurts! Could he still be constipated after doing the pediatric suppository? Dr can't see him until tomorrow and I'm worried :(

I guess there's a chance but after the initial part came out was the rest very soft? I can't imagine he'd still be constipated after that.
Maybe it hurts because he held it in? Maybe he is saying it hurts for attention?

I think in future if he doesn't go by day 2 you need to give the laxative.

My son is a witholder too so I feel your pain.

Thank you, good advice! I will keep an eye on it and hopefully he'll start feeling better soon!
