So i took my 4 month old DS to the GP a couple of weeks ago about possible reflux - he was bringing up so much milk after every feed, we were prescribed Gaviscon which didn't work so next they suggested he may have CMPA so asked us to try SMA Althera formula which was mostly free of cows milk.
It was horrible tasting stuff but we stuck with it for 2 weeks, but baby is still being sick alot. Since then we've gone back to expressed breastmilk with carobel which has helped massively.
My question is that since we used the new formula he seems to be so much less fussy, less crying, he's so calm during bath times, not as fussy when he's hungry, he will happily wait a few minutes for us to preapre a feed, and when we go out shopping he will just take in the sights rather than crying his eyes out within 30 seconds - do people think this is just because he's getting older and more mature (as mature as you can be at 4 months 😆) or could this have something to do with him no longer drinking "normal" formula.
For reference, we usually feed him expressed breastmilk and formula between 1-2 times a day as a topup, we haven't used Cow and Gate formula for about 2 weeks and he's been fantastic.
