My baby (5 months) has a virus & sore throat (confirmed by hospital sat and again by gp as she was unwell this morning so I took her in). Tomorrow will be day 4. The packaging on calpol & nurofen says do not give for more than 3 days. Has anyone given for longer than 3 days and been ok? She has been thoroughly checked by the dr twice.

It just means that after 3 days of illness you should see a dr, which you have done, so you're ok to carry on. It's not the medicine itself that's the issue- it's the possibility that there may be something more serious that needs ruling out if untreated iykwim

As the pp says it’s to prevent a serious illness been masked but that has been ruled out.
