Safe sleep, blankets 😤 so confusing

Firstly my boy is 1 and he is my 2nd child and I still don't know what to do!!!

My boy loves blankets and cuddly toys, he loves being cosy. We currently use a sleeping bag for him so obviously he doesn't need a blanket but can we put a blanket in the cot just for snuggling? Advice says not to use sleeping bags with them but it would just be for him to cuddles not actually tucked in over him.

Why is it so difficult 😅 he does take his fave dog teddy to bed already but j do still worry when I look at the monitor and he's got his face snuggled into it.

You’re not supposed to use blankets with a sleeping bag because they can overheat but an over 1 can have a duvet if he’d prefer. Cuddly toy is also fine for an over 1 but make sure it’s not one where bits could be a choking hazard e.g. button like eyes.

Safe sleep guidelines around cuddly toys, comfort blankets etc are for babies under 12 months. After this age you can leave things in the cot overnight with them
