Rash

Hi all, firstly I'd like to confirm that we've been to the Dr 2 days ago and spoken with local nurses yesterday who have both said there's nothing to worry about and baby is fine but I'm still looking for answers as Dr said they didn't know the cause.

Do any mama's have an idea on what this could be? It's on her belly, chest, lower and upper back, neck and behind her ears but it's not on her arms, legs or face. She's 16 months and is acting normal, has no fever, eats and drinks fine. She did have her 15 month immunizations just over 2 weeks ago and a nurse has suggested this could be the cause but it seems really severe to me.

I'm also aware that it's difficult to tell with pictures so just looking for opinions really.

I assume it's blanching. If not then go to A n E.

How long has she had it? Could it be an allergy to something? My DD used to get a viral rash with a cold. Does yours habe a cold?

So both doc and nurse have seen it and said it's nothing to worry about?

Have you changed your washing detergent recently?

Lillysmama8817 · 23/10/2022 22:20

Hi, thanks for replying. Yes it does blanch, I've been keeping a close eye on it for changes and there haven't been any. Today it looks just slightly less prominent and the bumps feel less prominent so I'm hoping it's running its course.

So she's had the whole thing about 5 days so far but the red visible inflamed one, she's had for 2 days and it seems to be fading slowly. She hasn't been sick that I've noticed which is why it's sudden appearance has thrown me.

How long did your little one have the rash for?

Hi, we haven't changed detergent, however I have recently used vanish in a couple of loads but I've used this since she was born, especially on stains. I am wondering if it might have been then but would it not have also caused a rash on her arms and legs?

It does seem to be fading today, it's still definitely there but it's not worse and seems less prominent.

Have you looked at the MMR rash? At different times over 7-28 days different parts of the MMR can cause a rash that usually self resolves. Obviously see GPif concerned or she’s not getting better

Hi! This is actually what my gut is telling me the cause is but I'm having a hard time finding pictures that match up with hers. I find similar ones but not many. She also had her first chicken pox jab too which also says a rash can pop up around the same time frame so I assume it's one or the other but yes I'm definitely keeping an eye on it, it actually seems slightly better today so hopefully it fades soon enough.

I'll definitely take her back to her gp if I have more concerns. Thanks for the reply
