9 month DS has come down with a fever and diarrhoea. we've had a case of a possible stomach bug/virus in the house the past week or so, everyone vomiting and having diarrhoea. noticed DS was a lot clingier today, constantly wanting cuddles and to sleep on me (doesn't happen very often) after about an hour checked he was burning up with 39 degree fever. instantly gave him nurofen and called the gp.
they advised to offer another dose of nurofen in a couple of hours and offer a lukewarm bath, if that doesn't do it, to take him to the a&e.
he gets really unsettled with the a&e have been there before with him, and he's not keen on strangers around him, a&e would hopefully not be an option and a last resort (obviously will take him if he doesn't get better after the bath and the second dose of nurofen) but was wondering if there is any suggestions on what else can be done to help lower his fever.
any recommendations?
