What size shoe is your 16 month old?

I'm just curious as to what size feet your 16 month old is/was?
My DS is 16 month old and seems really tall for his age... me and his dad are not tall and are the same size at 5"5ish.
I took DS to clarks last month to have his feet measured for the first time and they said he was a size 5! Is that big for his age?
Also how often should I get his feet measured? I'm assuming they grow pretty fast!

I don't think 5 is big particularly - I took my DD to get her first pair of shoes just after she turned 1 and she was a 4. She is also tall mind you.

I think they say about every 6 weeks at that age but I found the growth came in fits and starts and she stayed the same size for a while and then jumped up but every child is different. You can buy shoe gauges to measure their feet at home to give you an idea too.

I think that sounds about average! My DS is 14 months and a size 3 zo 5 at 16 months doesn't sound huge to me. The person who measured my DS in clarks said every 6-8 weeks they recommend being re-measured

Thank you all for your replies.
This is my first child so never actually been aware of baby shoe size and what it should be.. etc, but looking at his feet they look so big! Lol.
That's a good idea, I'm going to look at buying a shoe gauge! Better then going into clarks every 6 weeks! 🤦🏼‍♀️😂

I didn't really have a choice but to go with the gauge as my daughter had a full blown meltdown every time they tried to measure her feet and I couldn't be doing with that every 6 weeks!

My DS was size 5 at 14 months, he is now an adult 12 and 6ft 4...

My DS was a 4.5 at 16 months, so I’d say 5 was normal enough! They don’t even make shoes smaller than a 2 and that includes early walkers like my DD who was walking at 10 months! We have the start rite measuring gauge, they’re a good investment.

My son was 4.5 at 11 months... I can't remember specifically at 16 months. He's 4 now and a size 12 which seems to be bigger than his friends but he is tall too! (not on the charts!)

DGS is 17 months, he was just under 7lbs so average size baby, and he’s not quite grown into size 4. Both parents are a slight build, mum is adult size 4 and dad is size 7.

No idea what size shoes DS1 took at 16 months but I do remember that when he started walking at 12 months and we took him to Clarks for his first proper shoes, he was a sz 6 already 😀

He's only sz12(UK) as an adult, so not out of proportion for his height of 6ft 2.
