Hi all,

Please help me out any tips/advice or anyone else in same situation?

My little boy started to experience constipation since starting solids...he is breastfed and prior to this he was fine. He is now 1 and still struggling 😪

So I'm at my wits end of figuring out what is causing it. Its a daily battle so exhausting and draining!

When he started to first experience constipation we was advised to up fruit / veg which is the only things I was giving in puree form anyway.
Also massage and bicycle legs.
Tried them all nothing happened, we was given lactulose still didn't work poo was large, dry and hard and at times rabbit pellets.

Eventually movicol was given we tries that for 2 weeks bowel movements were better however I didn't want him depending on that.

Since I have just tried orange juice prune juice nothing works. I cut down his bread pasta intake.
Recently a work colleague told me to use prune pouches and when giving him 2 pouches a day alongside other food it has helped. When I cut down a pouch he struggling again.

He has enough fluids and a good diet.
Can anyone shed any light .... could there be an intolerance.... doctors say its common and to continue on movicol but surely there's a cause rather than just giving medication...

Sorry for the long post ... any advise would be so helpful right now

Hi @Busymum123456 just wondering how you got on with the constipation?
My DD is 10mo and since weaning her poos have gone from normal BF poos, at least 2 per day, to paste/pate type poos and now large hard plasticine lumps which are clearly causing her pain. She's only going about once every 4 days.

I give her prune, warm water and other fruits/veg but it doesn't seem to be helping. She doesn't even eat bread and most of her diet is still puree.
I've got a Dr appointment next week.
