Constipation/soiling 7 year old

Hi my dd has had constipation for 4 days now. She got movicol from the doctors but she is soiling her underwear several times a day. I don’t know what to do any more. She has gone through all of her underwear so I’m having to put radiators on to dry them fast after washing. She says she doesn’t realise she’s doing it. She has tried to go properly to the toilet but she says it hurts too much. Has anyone any experience with this and how long did it last? I’m afraid of taking her out places as it just happens and obviously it’s not pleasant and is not a pleasant smell but she is away next weekend with brownies and I’m scared she’ll still be doing it as it just seems neverending. I’m not sure they will tolerate having her doing it at all and they have said they’re not allowed to help them shower or anything so I’m guessing they won’t be able to do much and I’d have to go and pick her up. Can anyone help with suggestions or maybe if it’s happened to you how long did it last for? TIA

Have you looked at the ERIC website and used their help line?
Also, google the poo nurses and watch the video.
Both of those sites are very helpful and will explain exactly what is going on and how best to deal with it. Don't give up, you need to work hard to fix this now.

Sound like overflow if she’s not aware that it’s happening. Have you looked up the Eric website?
is she on a disimpaction regime?

It sounds as if she has severe impaction with overflow and possibly an overstretched bowel. It might take weeks to deal with, possibly longer. Talk to ERIC.

if she’s on a dis impaction regime you need to persevere until it’s like water and then can reduce dot down so she’s going easily at least once a day.
could you get some pull-ups to use in case of accidents for the next few days?

I've found the Facebook group Movicol Mummies very useful.
There is unlikely to be a quick fix. You will need to disimpact her which can take weeks or even months

here is the link to the Eric website on disimpaction

Yes, sounds like a blockage. It's very confusing as the child is having accidents but it's the poop leaking around the blockage.

Get to doctor. Get them to assess... then what has worked for us is 3 day course of liquid laxatives to clear everything out then movicol every day as a maintenance until all the poop is moving normally

Good support groups on Facebook- search "Encopresis" and watch "the poo in me" on YouTube (for kids)

Good luck
It's something that needs active tackling
