Do I need parenting help?

I see loads of workshops and courses around for parents but I'm not sure if I should do one.

Some of them are for strategies to use with the kids, some of them are about sorting yourself out.

Has anyone ever done one?

None of us have any idea if you "need" help or not, but I would suggest that most of us would benefit from hearing different ideas, hearing about different ways of doing things, and, quite frankly chatting with other parents.

If you are able to (fit it round work or caring commitments or whatever), then why not give it a try and see how you get on ? You won't have lost anything.

True, yes I get what you're saying. I don't think I'm the most needy or the least. I know I've got nothing to lose. I guess I just wondered what others thought of any courses they'd been on

I think the majority are absolute crap and shouldn’t be allowed

no 2 children are the same so these courses offering parenting techniques are pointless, what may work for 1 child wouldn’t work for another

Hadn't thought of it like that, that's true... don't they tell you how to tailor it for your kid? Or what about doing one to help me be more calm. I've thoughts about trying that even though I've tried mindfulness apps
