Nappy rash, And round-the-clock POO. How do I fix this?

My little man (14 months) poos all the time. It varies, but typically a couple of times in the day, then between 7pm and 10pm (we change him when we go to bed), and then again in the night, since he almost always wakes up with a poo-ey bum.

This may not be unconnected to his prodigious appetite for fruit.

Now he has a couple of little lesions type nappy rash developping. We need to fix it. But, however fastidiously we change him, he'll inevitably be spending some time in poo-ey nappy.

Should I manipulate his diet? It seems somehow perverse to hide the blueberries and encourage him to eat white bread. And what's the best way to do it?

I wouldn't change his diet but both my LOs have the same problem, very acidic smelling poo from all the fruit they eat (do you find blueberries actually stain his bum a greyish purple if you aren't quick enough with the nappy change?). I use cloth (not sure if your DS is in cloth or disp)and find a smearing of lansinoh works wonders. It creates an impermiable barrier that allows the skin to heal underneath whilst stopping wet and dirty nappies from irritating the area even more.

Hope this helps
