my dd started shutting cupboard doors, putting down the lid on the bin, of her own accord. It used to make me smile, but I didn't really ask anything of her at that age.

Mine loves doing jobs.

He loads and empties the washer and drier.

He puts pots in the sink and clothes in the basket.

He empties the dishwasher.

Gets his own cup and cutlery out and sometimes his plates.

More often than not mine liked to help out at this age. Copied the sweeping up, run to fetch things they knew I needed, tidied up and generally tried to please.
Pity it doesn't last

DS chooses his own plate at meal times. Will put his clothes in the laundry. Puts rubbish in the bin (and things that aren't rubbish). Tidies up at the end of the day which is often more than I can get his 5 year old sister to do!!!!

i ask dd3 to put her stuff in the laundry once i have put her pjs on, she takes them off me, then sighs and says 'this is such hard work mummy'

i think i must be moaning too much about housework

yes little ones love "helping". I have an excess of it but I don't really ask them to do it, but always accept when they want to help or do a job. my DD 25 mo loves collecting cups and taking them to the kitchen, likes to empty the washing machine (at every opportunity ) and she and her 4yo brother are the best tidiers in the house. I am a lucky mummy!

My dd is 18mths and she loves doing little jobs. She takes rubbish to bin, puts potato peel in bag as I am peeling to go in bin `and can take clothes to wash basket. she thoroughly enjoys it and at nursery she got a sticker the other day for tidying.
