Swimming lessons

My daughter is nearly 10 and been going on swimming lessons for years. About 8 months ago the teacher on her level changed and the teacher has not marked off anything on her criteria to pass this level and move onto the next one. One of the requirements is a long distance swim. When asked about it, we were told it's difficult to pass that because the pool isn't big enough. So how are the kids supposed to progress to next level???

ehm you do lengths. Ours is a 25m pool but you do x amount of lengths on the bounce. Is it swim skills or is that just in Scotland? What level is she on?

There's different swim schools and they have different amounts of levels. This is for the 75 meters in this level.

We ended up moving to another pool and teaching scheme as DS wasn't progressing through the stages due to the teacher not being on the ball about ticking off what he could do. We're much happier and he's zoomed ahead. Maybe consider this if you have another option?

Each swim instructor will mark differently and each swim school will mark differently and its really frustrating. Ds2 swims with school at the local leisure centre, he's just been awarded his 100m distance badge from Swim England, even though he swam 10 lengths of 25m with correct technique. At swim club he swims 12 lengths as a warm up without stopping (he can tumble turn) so christ knows where the leisure centre plucked 100m from......
