Awaiting a call back from 111... First time this has come up. Baby is 4 months old. Rash come up on back. I'm so worried. Any ideas/things I can do? Been told could take a few hours for call back.

No temp no other symptoms.

That looks like eczema to me, but see what 111 says.

Did you notice a single mark before it came out (known as the herald mark)? That would be an indication of something rosea. Hang on I need to Google....

www.nhs.uk/conditions/pityriasis-rosea/

My DS had this and not affected at all apart from the rash.

And really don't worry. I know that's easier said than done but babies get rashes a lot and with no other symptoms it's extremely likely to be harmless.

Thank you for your replies. @theydontspeakforus I did think it could be that actually.

@SummerHouse that's interesting... I didnt notice one mark but it does look like it from the link.

Still waiting for the call back but feeling a bit less panicked... just so scary this first time mum thing. Anything new I obviously resort to full blown panic. Which obviously doesn't help

I totally get you. Mine are 12 and 10 now and it gets easier I promise you. I remember sleeping on the floor next to the cot when DS got a temp. But you get through it, and each time seems a little easier as you see them bounce back each time.

Thank you 💓 glad to hear it gets easier. I feel like I'm constantly worrying about something.

111 just called me and said basically what you did - that they get all sorts of rashes and marks at this age and 90% are nothing to worry about if no other symptoms. If he gets any other symptoms or a temp call back but otherwise call my GP Monday if I'm still worried.

Apparently they are getting a lot of calls about rashes etc at the moment... and it's mostly the change on weather messing with summer born babies skin

Thanks again for your comments. He has just zonked out so going to have a glass of wine and try ans relax a little xx
