Baby gasping for breath while sleeping

Why could this be happening?
Baby is 12 weeks old. We've noticed tonight she's gasping for breath while she's sleeping every few minutes. I googled and it said she might need to cough.
So I picked her up and patted her back and she did a really big cough and a few more. After lying her down, she's still doing it.

She's sleeping, smiling and eating and not breathing horrible anymore. She sounds like she's doing much better!

Oh hon the anxiety is awful and it probably is fine but if you have the slightest doubt get her seen. Never let anyone try to talk you out of it with 'it's obvious that....'. You have instincts for a reason and any HCP would tell you they'd rather than take baby in and she's fine than not take her in and she's not fine. It can be hard to tell, may be something, may be nothing, let the.professionals look xxx

Hello, thank you, yes she is!
It turned out to be a really bad cold. It lasted 2 weeks. I was really worried because of how young and tiny she was but she was ok after a couple of weeks. It was very scary at the time as she was gasping for breath to begin with but then it turned out to be a cold. We went to the doctors who also said that it was a nasty cold.
