First birthday party

My son has just started reception and he is turning 5 soon so I’ve promised him a party and we’ve booked a soft play barn with room for max 25 children. There are 22 children in his class so I was thinking to invite everyone but my son wants to invite some of his friends from nursery and has named 5 so far. What would you do???

Invite them all.
That only comes to 27 and you won't get everyone able to come.

From reading threads on here there are a lot of really rude parents who try and bring siblings, so do make it clear on the invitation that numbers are limited and only the invited child is able to stay.

Kite22 that’s probably the best solution to invite everyone. Thanks for the tip, I had no idea that people would rock up with siblings without asking so yes I’d have to be upfront about that. Thanks a lot x

Depending on how strict the venue is I'd invite the whole class early, wait for RSVPs saying no before inviting the others.

I had a similar idea - invited about 40 kids as it was during the school hols I was sure loads would say no. Every single bloody one invited came along, many bringing siblings too. Was in a hall so no worries about numbers but was pretty manic!

Bear in mind that you'll get 30 invitations back to their respective parties 🤣. Mine was one of the oldest in his year too. For some reason it surprised me that he got invited back to their parties. Many a weekend in soft play centres but still fun ☺️

Buckle up 🤣. My oldest is now a teen and has 3 of his lovely pals over tonight for a birthday sleepover. The smell of farts and lynx is overpowering. Enjoy your little one ❤️
