Do nursery kids need to be vaccinated?

Just that really. I heard that it's mandatory in most countries other than UK but Google is a bit confusing?
No need for anti Vax debate as it's literally just curiousity

No.
My DD had to have some vaccinations delayed for health reasons (she had the 13 month ones a year late) and I don't even think we were asked.

It isn't a requirement.

The UK has traditionally had quite good uptake of vaccines offered so hasn't really needed to impose restrictions on schooling in that way.

I don't think so, I've had three children through nursery in recent years (one is still there) and I'm certain we have never had to provide their vaccination status.

Don't think you even get asked which ones they've had

Someone I know said on their application form it asked if their child was up to date with their vaccines and this is where the conversation started and Google got involved (to no help).

Don’t think so. I can believe that registration forms ask if the children have had their normal childhood vaxxes but fairly sure no repercussions if they have not, is just part of the health history

one “friend” is adamantly anti vax and her kids def went to nursery

Bells3032 · 04/10/2022 20:21

Not mandatory here but saying that private nurseries I believe can (although have to have exceptions for disabilities etc).

Mine asked about it but not sure what happens if not

TeddyBeans · 04/10/2022 20:21

I think the question about vaccines on the paperwork is so the staff can quickly identify who might be at risk if an outbreak were to happen in the setting. Definitely not a requirement to be vaccinated to attend

No not in the U.K.
