First time parent here and I'm abroad with my nearly 6 month old son and partner. Our son is usually a very placated and happy little boy outside of the usual grumbles. However, for the last 5 days he has been very agitated and upset and at points cried so much he's vomited. It seems as if he's in pain all the time. He's exclusively Breast Fed and yesterday I noticed a couple of nappies with sort of bits in it, which I don't think I've noticed before. Should I be more worried than I already am. Does anyone else's breast fed baby have nappies like this? Sorry again about the nappy image. TIA

Yes, with food intolerances, reacting through breast milk. Milk and wheat for us.

Odd that it's at 6 months though.

Yes, very common, mucus. Tummy is slightly irritated. That's why baby is uncomfortable. Give it a few days to see if it calms down, then try pediatrician.

possibly teething?

Looks like a normal poorly poop

Thanks for all the speedy replies. That's interesting, since being away I've eaten a bit of dairy here and there, which I haven't done before as I usually eat plant based only, but that's difficult here with limited options.

So are the darker lumps mucus from irritation?

I thought possibly that but I'd read that teething pain for a teeth erupting is usually 2-3 days. He also already has his two first in and didn't react like this with those. So I'm unsure. Would you expect a nappy with mucus in if teething?

I would tend to think it is the dairy, especially if you don't normally consume dairy. Are you allergic to it?

I'm not allergic to cows milk, but yes, I'm leaning towards this too. I suspect having never had it in my breastmilk, it's been a shock to his digestive system.

Chronic teething is a thing, and yes they can get pretty gross, but if he's had his first teeth without these symptoms then it's probably not the cause.
