Rota virus vaccine

How long did it take your baby to recover from the rota virus vaccine?

DS is 11wo and had his first dose a week ago. He was a bit off for a couple of days, mainly just feeling rubbish and wanting to be cuddled but the past 3-4 days has been either constipated or doing explosive poonami's (my OH heard him poo from downstairs last night!). He just seems to have a sore tummy and is arching his back and straightening himself out ridged. No tummy massages helping at all. OH is immunocompromised and the nurse said he wasn't to change nappies for 2 weeks so I guess it will be in DS's system for that long but will he be so uncomfortable the entire 2 weeks???

I maintain my son was crabby for at least two weeks following his first jab. Don't worry; you'll get your old baby back eventually and the other jabs aren't quite so bad!

@ChildWontStopGrowing did your son react the same way for the 2nd dose too? I miss my happy baby!

Literally the first one was awful and the rest were fine. Don't worry: he'll bounce back eventually!

After his second jab I knew what to expect, but he wasn't nearly so grumpy

About a week or so with each one of the rotavirus ones - first was worse than the second…..calpol and lots of cuddles!

My DD was very sick (vomiting) after the rotavirus vaccine and was generally unsettled and grumpy for a good week - 2 weeks after them! It does pass though x
