Is it ok to use 2 different childminders?

Childcare in my area is like gold dust. It's really hard to get. No nursery places for years. I'm sure people sign kids up that haven't even been conceived yet!!!

Anyway, I had a childminder sorted for when I went back to work however, she's just told us that she won't be able to look after DD as she's pregnant, so will be going on maternity soon after DD is meant to start with her. (She didn't realise that she was pregnant, so has found out later into the pregnancy)

I have tried every other childminder in the area and unfortunately none are able to take her for 4 days per week whilst I work, although there are 2 that can do 2 days each.

Would it be too disruptive to put DD in the care of 2 different childminders, or does it not really matter? I need to go back to work, but I also don't want to upset DD too much? Eg one chilinder Mon and Tues, then the other weds Thurs?

My sister's childminder moved, and since then she has had MASSIVE issues with childcare! Currently her kids are being looked after by 4 different people each week. They are still happy kids!

I think that's absolutely fine. She will get used to both of them quickly. What would be unsettling is having someone completely different each week.

Yes, of course, my kids went to nursery in the mornings and were picked up by the child minder who had them for the afternoon.

Yes it's fine.

As long as she is comfortable with both of them it shouldn't be a problem, many people have traditionally had different methods of childcare and I always thought it could be a good thing. My DC had a mixture of private nursery and childminders and then preschool nursery, with the odd family member as well. Looking back I wonder what I was thinking. But my DC were happy.

It's fine, I've looked after plenty of children who do a couple of days with me & others with another childminder. They've all been happy & settled with both

My son went to one childminder 3 days and another 2

generally fine, he was totally happy and they communicated with each other as well as me.

obly issue I had was if one took a week off say at the begging of school holidays and one at the end I had weird annual leave nog quite when I would have chosen.

Absolutely! If anything it'll benefit her.

My DS did 2 days nursery, 2 days childminder from one and was happy.we upped the nursery when the free hours kicked in but that was because at the time splitting it was a pain.
