Really struggling with toddlers behaviour, just about to turn 2 and doing everything I imagine a toddler this age does, biting me,hitting, throwing and it just ignites something in me so I need to try and figure out the best way to deal with this behaviour and looking for any recommendations of gentle parenting books or anything anyone has tried I can read up on? I just feel like I'm totally winging it and failing miserably which has now descended into mum guilt that I'm not a good mum in this area :(

Toddler Calm
How to talk so younger children listen and listen so younger children talk
Alfie Kohn, Unconditional Parenting

Amazing that's brilliant, it's such a minefield looking online, very overwhelming with choice!

Janet Lansbury on FB is a good follow. Probably on IG also. You can even Google her name plus toddler hitting etc. And you'll likely get a choice of detailed articles. Best of luck.

Playful Parenting.

Its all about why kids play, how they play, how they can use play to process emotions and how you can resolve conflict through play. And also how you can use play as a teaching tool.

This book is slightly American in parts, but honestly, it really really helped me find strategies of how to cope with difficult behavious and how to divert them into more positive behaviours.

Anything by Janet Lansbury but I'd also recommend reading The Book You Wish Your Parents Had Read by Philippa Perry. It's not a parenting guide, but I found it transformational.
