Purple under skin rash

Hi,

I'm just wondering if anyone has ever seen a rash like this on a baby?

My little boy 4 months has this on his arm. It's the second time the rash has occurred although is more purple this time. It almost looks like a bruise.

We realised the first time he had it was a few days after his 12 weeks jabs but his 16 week jabs were 2 weeks ago.

He seems fine in himself just a bit fussy when feeding but he has been teething.

I'm so worried it could be something more sinister 😭

Thanks in advance

You say it’s ‘under skin’ and looks like a bruise which could be subcutaneous bleeding, as in meningitis. Have you tried the glass test? Could be nothing, but I’d at least be I calling 111 to query, if not heading to A&E - especially if it spreads. Good luck.

I was going to ask as well if it's blanching when you do the glass test. Is his temperature normal? Are you sure it was a similar rash to the one he got after his 12 weeks jab? I'd probably get it checked out to be on the safe side.
