My 20month old is in a 140x70cm cot bed and I’m thinking of transferring him to use a duvet, and I keep seeing 150x120cm sizes but that’s even bigger then his bed .... would that work? I seen some IKEA ones but they’re much smaller? What do you recommend. I live in England would a 4tog be enough? Thanks!

Big size is fine, gives you a little bit of leeway to snuggle them up! 4tog works ok for us as well, if it's very cold we put a quilt on top.

I use the larger size, just fold it when making the bed. I use a much higher tog, I think 4 is not enough.

The size is fine. My DD over heats in a 4 tog so I had to get a 1.5 from Amazon. It really depends how warm your child's room is, but I prefer a thinner duvet and thicker pajamas when needed.

Single size is fine, just turn it sideways and tuck it under on one side.

Dunelm do cot bed duvets for cotbeds. Fogarty ones around 4.5 tog are perfect all year round.

BertieBotts · 28/09/2022 14:09

Duvets are usually bigger than the mattress size, it's so that they can flop over the sides and look nice.

Search Toddler Duvet - they're the perfect size for Cot Beds, but they're always bigger than the mattress - how else do you wrap up and snuggle

My daughter has a cot bed, we got her a toddler duvet and pillow from Asda. We've had it a good 18months now and she's warm enough in the winter!

I’ll look into them but apparently 4.5tog are for 36mo + or do you tbink for a 20mo it’s good too?

I have a standard single duvet ready to go on my son's cotbed. When he gets a proper bed it will also go on that!
