Eldest aged 15 off school this week going back to school tomorrow hopefully after a nasty dose of sickness . Currently doing homework .

I was up last night with S&D so feeling ropey

Youngest aged 8 nearly 9 not well at school yesterday and said not feeling well this morning so at home too but I think she's tricked me and apart from a sniffle is full of beans .

I don't think youngest should be on tv / screen all day because I don't think she should pull the "I'm sick " routine to stay off when not ill .

My mum was really strict . If you were ill you stayed on sofa all day reading a book or sleeping . If I was ill that wasn't hard but if not I could not wait to escape go back to school

So am I being mean by taking away all screens today to make a point of you rest if you not in school --and don't get a jolly fun day

Thoughts please

If she was pretending to be ill, you're right not to allow screens.
A child that is genuinely ill can have all the screen time they want imo.

I think it's good parenting. You lie and make things up, you don't get rewarded for it.

Thankyou
She's just come in and said she's feeling a lot better and is it too late to go to school for the afternoon

I think I did good today 🤣🤣🤣🤣
