I'm worried about how shy my 3yo son is. He is happy and confident at home and with his grandparents, but beyond that he really seems to struggle with other people. He goes to nursery full time and the staff say he plays well with the other children while he's there, but whenever I ask him who his friends are he says no one 😞 If we bump into other kids outside the nursery or at the park they are always really friendly towards him but he gets upset and tries to hide. Is this normal? Will he grow out of it?
We are moving to a new area soon and next year he'll start school, so he will need to meet a lot of new children. I know he's very young still and there's nothing wrong with being an introvert, but I worry that kids will stop making an effort with him if they get nothing back. Just want him to be happy!
