I posted here around this time last year as my DS1 then probably around 15/16 months was greeting all kinds of children (kids of strangers and friends) and getting pushed back/hit in return. It was quite worrying for me at the time but short lived.

Anyway, now the tables have turned and DS1 has recently starting wrestling other children, pushing them on floor, sitting on tip of them etc.. Today in Jamboray he pushed his 1 year old brother down, sat on him, commenced onto next child doing the same and continued in a frenzy until i grabbed him and asked him to come and apologise to each child It is extrememly embarrasing, it has been going on for a few weeks now and seems to be worse when he is tired which he clearly was this afternoon having not had a nap - is this a stage they grow out of please and what am i supposed to do?!? DH's friend asked how 'the bruiser' was the other day
DS gets lots of attention, goes out almost everyday and has much fresh air and exercise - i can't think of why he is doing this.
Am i worrying too much? Or am i being too relaxed? Sorry, thanks.

Sounds like a phase to me.
Our dd had a similar and very short phase of biting people.

And we discouraged her in the same way as you:
asked her to apologise and explained that it was not nice.
