Toddler and baby sharing room

Currently pregnant with DC2 and (over)thinking about how room sharing would work with a 2 year old and 6m old.
DC1 was a bit of a nightmare at night so it's difficult to use our experience to apply to our future baby. They have a pretty solid routine and sleep through the night, but that didn't happen until around 11m. Before that we would be up for hours in the night trying to settle. However, we think it would be lovely for them to share a room when they are growing up together as they will be relatively close in age. We do have another room so it isn't necessarily out of necessity.
It would be great to hear other's experiences and tips on this! Thanks

Worked fine for our two eldest. Our second was a very different sleeper than our first. Moved him in at 6 months and both boys loved it. When they’re we’re older and both in beds, we would often find them cuddled up together in the same bed asleep. They wanted separate rooms at teenagers but loved being in together till then.

@Arucanafeather can I ask how your 6 mo was sleeping when you moved them in with the toddler?
Were they consistently sleeping through?
TIA!

I’ve done room sharing with toddler 3 times (4 kids under 5), generally I found the older one sleeps through any noise and tbh now they’re older they still do, it’s rare that they wake each other up through the night.

Thanks! Still a couple of months off moving the baby in - I guess we’ll just have to see how it goes 😬.
the toddler has started refusing to sleep without a light on so hopefully sort that by the time we put them together
