Recommendations for rocker

Hi

Im due my 2nd baby in 9 weeks and was looking for some recommendations on a rocker that can be used from newborn. Ideally one that had had a motor to enable it to swing side to side, back to front. I didn’t have anything like that with my son who is now 6.

Hi OP, I’m sure someone will come at me for this and I’m just posting in case you aren’t aware and I mean this as very well intentioned and hopefully not patronising but just to make you aware that any kind of swings/rockers etc should only be used for supervised awake time, never let baby sleep in them, and if baby falls asleep you should immediately move them to a safe sleep space, I know loads of people do it, I did it myself until I learned the dangers but there is a risk of positional asphyxia with babies sleeping in these devices. With all that being said, our DS loved his mamas and papas swing and was quite happy chilling in there before he was mobile while I got on with chores etc. congratulations on your pregnancy and I hope the birth goes well.

Yikes! I didn’t now, thanks for the heads up. We had planned on using this for sleep time but we’ll deffo rethink this now.

You’re welcome, there is a Facebook group called “safe sleep and baby care-evidence based support” and it is a fully evidence based group with hundreds of thousands of members from all over the world and I have learned an absolute wealth of information from there, well worth a look if you have some spare time here and there.
