16yo (17 in November) left school (which she saw as optional anyway) and enrolled on a college course. Since that started, she's chosen to stay off more often than go in. Had a part time job but sacked it off. Cites anxiety or illness as an excuse but is clearly just lazy and cba. She has been through a fair amount in the last couple of years and is seeing camhs but she's somehow OK to socialise.

I absolutely didn't raise her to be like this, I've tried bribes incentives, telling her how shit her life will be, ultimatums. What else can I do!?

In all honesty the anxiety would be enough to make her pack in the job and stop college. Sounds like she needs to be seeing a therapist again. The socialising with friends is likely the only thing that makes her less anxious .My son is currently in young mental health therapy ,has just started college and I too, am currently encouraging him to apply for part time work to help him more independent and have his own money. He’s struggling but being with his friends is his escape from the stress and anxiety he feels in this new world. I would sit down and have a heart to heart and try and get to the root of the problem. There’s probably more to it than ‘just being lazy’ possibly even depression. I wish you luck 🍀

Thank you. She is seeing a therapist and we seem to have 'heart to hearts' every other day. I don't doubt that she is struggling with anxiety and low mood, most people I know do tbh.

The fact is, she has become incapable of dragging herself out of bed early in the morning.
