Very quick question re:newborn and cotton tots

Do i need to have the insert thingies that came with my cotton tots and fluffles, in place for a newborn?
They attach with poppers so assuming you don't have to.
Am confused!!

Not really, they will make the nappy more bulky and as you are going to be changing frequently at first you can leave them out and just add them when the nappies seem to be getting soaked too quickly
