Why is my child like this?

I have a 3.5 year old who is sensitive and considerate , and is a really lovely temperament. I am not just saying that because I am her mum / bias- she has a naturally lovely nature! Lovely to take out and plays and shares beautifully with other children.

However, we have just moved to a new location and I've made a friend round the corner who has a little boy a little younger than my daughter - this little boy is also sensitive and kind and sweet ! I thought she liked this little boy but honestly , she has become so embarrassing to take out ! She winges when he uses one of her toys and winges when he won't play the games that she wants to play . Today he went to give her his car to look at and she put it on the floor to wizz along , but instead of using her hands she kicked it to wizz it along. I obviously told her that wasn't a very nice thing to do - she has never done that before ever and as her mum I know that she is aware tbag isn't the right sort of behaviour.
Any childcare experts out there who can advise on why she is behaving like this with just this one child ?! I'm guessing she just doesn't really like him !!

Because 3 yr olds can't play well with other kids, they generally parallel play at that age, so may both be in the same place, playing with the same toys but can take or leave the other kids. All she sees is a lot of toys she wants to play with and someone else who's taking them, that's not as fun as having them to herself. That's why reception year at school is play based, it's to teach the kids how to interact with each other and share an activity.

She's 3 - you're expecting too much
