A question about occupational maternity leave if you are a teacher.

I have just started a new school in September 22. It is in the same local authority as my last school however my last school was part of a trust. Am I still entitled to occupational maternity leave or should I wait for 52+11 by the time I’m 29 weeks pregnant. Our first baby was an IVF baby after some miscarriages so it could take us time again this time round

You will need to read your policies. While most academies are physically within an LEA area they are usually financially separate.

Who is your employer according to payslips? If it is still same employer as before then it shouldn't be a problem as you'll still have your continuous service (e.g. changing from one LA school to another within the same LA, or from one school in a MAT to another within the MAT). If it's a new employer then your continuous service starts from when you started with your new/current employer. It sounds like you'll be the latter. Check your handbook!
