Hi all,

I am looking for other French speaking mums and children to meet up in the Guildford area. I have a 4 year old son and a 20 months old daughter. My son is will start school in September this year and I am keen to ensure he carries on speaking French on a regular basis (daddy is English so we have a mix at home).

Give me a shout if you are in a similar situation.

hi,
I am french and my children are the same age like your children. We arrived in england in july. My husband speak english, but my children and me, we learn english this year at school (and in the creche for my daughter). I live near manchester.
Your son is in reception like my son ?
And you, you speak english ? You help your son for his homeworks or it's your husband ?
What about you to the english school ?

Hi,

My son starts school in September (he turns 4 in March) so there's no homework to worry about yet.

I have been living here for 13 years so my English is rather fluent now! I didn't go to any school to learn when I first arrived as I could understand and express myself OK. You'll see that it will take a few months but you'll eventually pick it up very quickly. Don't worry about your children - they'll learn faster than you!

Good luck.

Hi Nathalied

I'm in the Guildford area and am bringing up my daughter bilingually. She's 26 months old now so quite close in age to yours. I'm English as is my husband but he grew up in France and only speaks French at home to our daughter.

I am expecting baby no 3 in a couple of days who we will also bring up bilingually. We are keen to find other french-english families so that our little ones can have some exposure to French with other kids.

Happy to meet up if you are still interested...

Hello there, I am English but my husband is French. We have a 7 month old son and would like to meet other bi-lingual families so that our son grows up with french friends. We are in the Southampton area but we could meet half way?! Get in touch if you are interested
Maz.

Hello Nathalied & Drjanie,

I am French, have 2 children (boy 2 1/2, and girl 5 mths), live in the Guildford area and am very keen to get together with other local French families with young children! Are you still interested? Perhaps you two have already met up...?
