Pale poo in one year old (tw: nappy pics attached)

Shamelessly posting for traffic. I've got a GP appointment in the evening as well but I'm quite concerned and was wondering if anyone has got experience of this.

So my 13 month old toddler has had two nappies today with very pale yellow stool. I know pale stool can be sign if liver disease or bile duct obstruction but I've also read somewhere that it can be caused by drinking too much milk and the white bits are milk fat. He hasn't had a massive amount of kilo yesterday. He still has a bit of formula in the night but he's had about 150ml more of normal cow's milk yesterday so maybe it's that.

He's been quite irritable as well today morning. Crying lots and just wants to be carried but otherwise he seems ok..

I called 111 and they made the GP appointment for him.

He's been ill with a nasty cold and high temperature for a week but his temperature has been normal since yesterday so maybe that's not related.

Apologies but I've attached the images of his poo..the green bits in the second one are undigested peas.

@Marvellousmadness there was a warning in the title, you didn't have to look!

OP I wouldn't immediately panic but would make a GP appointment if it continues

Yes he's got an appointment later today. 111 kept asking if he's in pain (which I guess might he indicative of bike duct obstruction?) but how would I know. He can't tell me. He's been crying so maybe he is. Or he might have just been sleepy. I know they need to ask but i felt like a terrible mum not knowing if my child is in pain or not.

OP - did you ever get an answer from your GP?
My daughter is having similar issues so just wanted to check before I call the docs.

Did y’all ever find out what caused the pale poo?

PooWoo · 26/07/2023 06:21

Looks like an old thread of mine. Carrie, I don't remember exactly what the GP said but it turned out to be nothing. His next poo was fine. Maybe it was something he ate.
