Struggling tween

My 12yo has struggled these past two years to make any lasting friendships. She is in Y8 of high school and feels isolated by her friends, they seem to ‘upgrade her’ every few months. She’s started struggling with food and low mood as a result. She’s started opening up to me - it’s taken a long time! and I’ve encouraged her to be kind to herself, the right friends will find her. I’ve also got her some private therapy as she’s very unhappy.

is this normal for kids to find lasting / meaningful friendships. Is heartbreaking as she’s a smashing kid.

thanks

Hi,

how are you getting on with your daughter? Really hope things have improved for her. I’m having a similar situation with my son , he’s struggling to find his tribe. It’s heartbreaking to see
