I didn't return after one - she barely slept and cried almost constantly, I was in bits. 8 years later, we got an autism diagnosis for her and I realised why we'd found those early years so hard.

KylieCharlene · 16/09/2022 17:25

No.
Two children under 2.
No option to wfh and couldn't afford childcare.

theveg · 16/09/2022 17:25

Yes full time after both

Yep full time after both. Took a year’s mat leave both times.

Pipsickl · 16/09/2022 17:42

Yes. Full time, my life is now very busy lol

ingenvillvetavardukoptdintroja · 16/09/2022 17:48

Yes but waited till number 1 got 30 free hours to have number 2. Went back 3.5 days and went up to 4 days a week after 3 months.

Aldidl · 16/09/2022 17:51

And the third. To fund a nanny.

OfficiallyBroken · 16/09/2022 17:52

Yes. Full time with both (although technically part time at my company because FTE is 40 hours and I worked 35).

HippyChickMama · 16/09/2022 17:55

Yes. Worked full time night shifts across weekends until she started school (eldest was already school age) to avoid paying for full time childcare and then changed jobs when she started school

blahblahblahhh12 · 16/09/2022 18:00

Yes. Went back after 1st and then after my 2nd. 9 months maternity with both

TwinkleToesStrikesAgain · 16/09/2022 18:02

Yes when they were 3 months old.

HideTheCroissants · 16/09/2022 18:07

Not until my youngest went to secondary. I had a lovely 15 years as a SAHM.

RoseGardenSummer · 16/09/2022 18:08

I dropped to 2 days a week after my first born, then gave up for 5 years after my 2nd was born. When they were both at school I started a job in a school that fitted in with school hours and holidays.

surreygirl1987 · 16/09/2022 18:22

Yep. Had 2 under 2. Got a promotion at a new workplace when on mat leave with second and went back full time.

SouperNoodle · 16/09/2022 18:47

I've been a SAHM for almost 5 years and have 2 kids. I've just gone back to work part time in a little cafe. I'm not sure how I feel about it yet.
It's nice to get a bit of extra pocket money but it means that a lot of housework isn't getting done

DelurkingAJ · 16/09/2022 18:50

Yes. Did step out of a fee chasing role with 50 hour weeks into industry. To be honest the only option we considered was DH staying home (I earn more and he’s a more natural parent) but frankly that would have unbalanced our relationship so we didn’t.

MsNorris · 16/09/2022 18:50

Yep 4 days a week, 4 months after I had DC1 and still 4 days after DC2 but had 7 months off, went back full time after DC2 was 7

alphons · 16/09/2022 18:52

No. Very lucky and very happy.

Hugasauras · 16/09/2022 18:53

On mat leave currently but going back next year. I work three days.

Hugasauras · 16/09/2022 18:55

And I already am looking forward to it! I really love my job and I miss it and my colleagues. We could just about afford for me to be a SAHM but it's not for me.

ancientgran · 16/09/2022 18:55

I went back after 1, 2 and 3, went back briefly after 4 but DH was diagnosed as permanently disabled, he'd been struggling for some time, and I had a break. Still working at 69.

jennyt82 · 16/09/2022 18:55

I left after I had my 4th. I had returned to work after my previous 3 pregnancies

MolliciousIntent · 16/09/2022 18:58

Yes. Wild horses couldn't have kept me away. My DH went part time.

milkysmum · 16/09/2022 19:13

Yes. I went back full time after the first and the second ( both when they were 9 months ). I have remained working full time and they are now age 13 and 11 years.

Mrsuntidy · 16/09/2022 19:44

Yes. Full-time with two under 5.
