At that age it was swimming, feeding the ducks and being pushed in the toddler swing at the local park. We tried the beach a couple of times but the first time she didn’t like the sand, then second time she tried to put it in her mouth!
At about 18 months, she loved ball pits, slides, crawling through tunnels and a local toddler sensory class. Also mesmerised at the aquarium when we went on holiday.

We do a lot of soft play, due to just-12mo DS being like Crash Bandicoot at home and if we spend too long indoors the place is trashed. He can escape his play pen, open doors, anything that’s not locked down is not safe!
The soft play attached to the local Better Gym is only £2.10. It’s a bit grubby but does the job ok. We swim, plenty of splashing. Local park ok for swings and cruising. There’s a mud club not far which looks awesome and as soon as he’s walking it’ll be wellies and puddle suit on and we’ll do that.
Sometimes I take him to IKEA. Lots of space, he cruises around the various ‘rooms’, look at the plants etc, then the cafe for £1 kids meal.
we did do a music class but he won’t sit still for it now.

Swimming
Soft play
Stay and play/playgroup
Music class
Playground/swings/sandpit
Somewhere to look at diggers/planes
But most of all anywhere that they can be free to explore and toddle about without being told stay away from this/that, don't touch this/that. Just freedom!

Soft play
swimming
the park for the swing
the beach if you’re local
garden centres
long walks
feeding the ducks

if you’re lucky that your LO likes the buggy then pretty much stepping outside and walking will be stimulating for him. Now the weather is getting wetter I’ll be getting a decent snow suit so he can still crawl about and play with mud/puddles etc

The buggy has turned into a bit of drama now as we would rather be on the move on our own feet than wheels! We go to soft play every week she absolutely loves it- the beach I'm concerned she would eat the sand?! Just vision it being a nightmare of sand eating! She loves all the parks we go everyday with the dog and her... as long as its not pouring down! That's a great idea with ikea and she might like feeding the ducks too thank you!
