I can’t soothe me baby to sleep anymore

I have an 11 week old baby girl. I used to be able to rock her to sleep or drowsy. I also use white noise and have the room dark. Recently, it has gotten harder and harder to get her to nap. Now I cannot soothe her to sleep at all and have to resort to the dummy. How do I soothe her to sleep without the dummy? She is beginning to suck her hands but, when I leave her, she just cries. She doesn’t feed to sleep either.Any tips?

Most babies need support to sleep, the trick is finding out what works for yours.

Honestly? If it's working for you, go with the dummy and deal with phasing it out at a later date.

My 5mo would not take a dummy so all naps are either motion (carrier or pram) or he will feed to sleep at home if I catch him at the right time. It makes getting out and about tricky as I essentially need to plan everything around naps, whereas my friends whose babies will take dummies can get them to nap most places.

Why don't you want her to have a dummy?

If it's helping her sleep don't make it harder for you both.
