I've had about 6 minutes sleep

I posted last night about how I'm feeling a bit fed up, and right on cue my 10 month old decided sleep is for the weak

She woke every hour in the night and has currently been awake since 4am, this could be the worst night so far

I've cried, I've cuddled her, I've silently screamed, my nipples I think might have fallen off at some point during the night, and now I'm sat on the sofa eating marshmallows in between 3 minute check-ins on her on/off whinging

So just sending solidarity hugs to anyone else who's forgotten what sleep is 🤗

I feel you, it's brutal isn't it? Do you think she might be unwell? Hope you both manage to crash out soon

MadamMaltesers · 05/09/2022 05:54

You poor thing. I remember those night very clearly. Felt like that period in time went on for ever. I was like a zombie for the 1st year. Try and listen to something relaxing and make yourself some hot chocolate to go with them marshmallows.

I could have written this post myself. My 6 month old has also forgotten what sleep is 😭

So brutal. I think top right tooth is the culprit. But she's never been a great sleeper

@MadamMaltesers feels never ending doesn't it? I have a 6 year old too so even though logically I know it does and will get better, it just feels relentless

@jellyfish64 😩 sending hugs. X

I feel your pain. DS is 18 months and has always firmly believed that 4am is time to wake up. Sometimes he likes to start his day at 3am. He's just started to actually go through from 7pm bedtime to morning but has just got some cold type thing and we are back to having to go down to him every couple of hours.

Hope the tooth pops through sharpish!

bingo876 · 05/09/2022 06:00

She's dropped off!

Now do I grab an hours sleep before I need to get DS up for school or will I feel worse if I do that 😩

She must be reading this thread, she's awake again

@Pinkglittery oh bless you that's not fun! 😭

Sending all the hugs. My 18 month old has never ever slept through and has only JUST reduced her wake ups to once a night (if I'm lucky). It's pure hell.

bingo876 · 05/09/2022 06:09

@WildWombat oh goodness. I hope you get a full nights sleep soon! It's like torture isn't it

10 months is such a rough age. Mine have always slept better than ever after this sleep regression. Hang in there!
Put your feet up after the school run and scoff all the biscuits you can find!

JamesMartinsWaistcoat · 05/09/2022 06:33

I feel for you, OP, I really do.

8.5 month old DS is has decided that 5:30am is his 'time to start the day' and this is on top of waking up every 2 hours for a feed.

He's never come out of the 4 month sleep regression!

Sad
xxcatcatcatxx · 05/09/2022 06:34

I feel like it’s even worse when you’ve been able to remember why sleep actually was 😂 xxx

bingo876 · 05/09/2022 06:39

@Fixyourself this gives me hope thank you!!

@JamesMartinsWaistcoat same here - DD slept wonderfully from about 5 weeks until 4.5months. All night, no wakeups.. every night I wondered if it would be the last night of good sleep. And then one day it was. 😅

Same here. My 3 month old who has been sleeping blissfully for 9 hours for about a week decided to wake every hour on the hour last night - smiling and cooing away at me until I picked him up each time.

Think I had a total of 1 hour all in all ... just went off to sleep now and I closed my eyes for exactly 6 minutes before my doorbell rang...

Good luck and solidarity to all! Wheres the coffee....

RedHerring24 · 05/09/2022 13:42

This was me last thursday.
DD is 9 months old and she has been a pretty good sleeper to be fair.
She went down at 8pm, later than normal but has decided the best time to poo is mid settling her for bed, EVERY, SINGLE, NIGHT.
She woke at 11.30pm and was still going at 3.30am.
I was absolutely done in. She was just laying there giggling and sucking her thumb.
She eventually crashed at 4am and then woke at 6am.
I think its teeth related, again.
Why do teeth have to be so damn painful!

Wifflywafflywoo · 08/09/2022 22:06

Bless you. I have a 16 week old, I miss sleep.

I laid her on her playmat today, laid down next to her and woke up fifteen minutes later with a fright! Literally face planted into the carpet with her pulling my hair 😄
