Does it bother you when toys get lost or broken?

yes.

Didn't when the DS's were younger - but now DS1 is 7, and DS2 is 4 I do expect things to be looked after and not lost/broken.

I'm quite mean strict with them now - if a piece of a game/puzzle gets lost (because it's not put away properly) or something is broken then it gets chucked away .

Obviously things will change again for a few years with DS3 - but I'll expect the same of him as he gets older.

It has always bothered me. Ds is nearly 4. I am strict like FAQ. Tiny bit broken and in the bin it goes. Am trying to teach ds respect.

If it was on purpose/being silly then usually yes.

If it was a crappily made toy then yes, but with the manufacturers.

In general I try not to worry. If it has to go in bin then no more playing with it and that's enough.

Kids break things is my opinion.

I get when he breaks my stuff though.

Yes it does. Fortunately DD takes good care of her toys and things so it isn't too much of an issue. I did have to get strict about putting pieces of games/jigsaws away properly before getting another one out, but she has that sorted now.

Freind's DS broke one of DD's Polly Pockets by snapping it in half, and one of her girl friends snapped part of her catle off by leaning on it really heavily. Wasn't too impressed with either as they were done by overly rough play and could have bee avoided. I did make both children apologise to DD, but that was it.
