Crawling practice all day at 5.5 months

Hi Guys

Super nervous to post this so please don’t be too harsh. DS has been attempting to crawl from about 4.5 months and is finally getting the hang of it in the last week or so.

My only issue is I feel like such a bad mum, I do try and play with him and his toys but he has very little interest in anything outside trying to move around at the moment and get this skill down.

Because he’s still quite young I feel I can’t really play games which might go along with the crawling. I do try to pop things in front of him to crawl towards but I mostly have just been sitting on the bed and watching him, waving enthusiastically when he looks round at me, ask him where he’s off too, cheering him on etc He’s just started making sounds too so we have “ba ba” conversations on his travels and passings in the doorway.

Maybe I’m projecting again but I’m so worried I’m be neglectful. He does seem very content just trying to move around to the world. He can’t go very far at the minute though but it’s all he ever wants to do. The only time he cries is if you take away a cable or dirty shoe he’s managed to get his hands onto.

Is this ok or is this is really bad/ lazy parenting? Thanks

If he's happy then it's fine. Parenting is tiring and if he's allowing you some down then grab it ☺️
