16 week old pooing constantly

Hi everyone,
Can anyone help, my daughter is 16 weeks old she as a telephone appointment with gp on the 8th for an unrelated thing but for the past week she has been pooing constantly like I would say every 2 hours at least in the day, (at night she'll go 8 hours with no poo)
It doesn't look any different from her normal poos but I'm starting to worry now. It's hard to know if it's diarrhoea because as you'll all know baby poos are very runny anyway! She's very happy and well in herself so I'm wondering if it's just a phase or if I need to start trying to get hold of my gp sooner and demand an in person appointment. She is also teething so not sure if that's anything to do with it. She's fully breastfed. Could this be my fault? Is it something I've eaten. Any advice or similar stories would be much appreciated!!
Thank you xxx

It’s 13 years since I had a teething baby but I remember more poo and sore bum and having to change more regularly and use sudocrem during the day rather than just at night.
I’m not qualified to say that it is definitely teething causing it but from my experience it certainly can be.

Has she recently had the rotavirus vaccine?

Hi @emispregnant2021 my LO is breastfed and when he was the same age he would do explosive poo’s up to 7-8 times a day sometimes. It can be normal for breastfed babies as your milk is easily digested, I think it works as a natural laxative. I wouldn’t say it’s your fault as babies get used to what you are eating from when they are in the womb. Speak to the gp on the 8th as you plan to unless you see any other symptoms. X

@emispregnant2021 how is your LO now? What did GO say? I’m going through the same with my 4 month old. Changing so many nappies it’s driving me crazy!

Hi, I know how you feel! So I think it was teething my gp was really unhelpful and basically told me to get on with it. I think that my daughter also had a tummy bug. It did clear up after about two weeks. If you're worried push your gp to look into it. It's really stressful I know. My baby is now 6 months old and is still teething! Good luck xxxx

Thanks for replying. I’m glad it settled for you eventually. It’s driving me nuts, every time I change him he farts and does another poo! No sign of actual teeth here yet but he’s dribbling loads and chomping down on everything he can. Hope your LO’s teething passes soon!
