Sterilising glass bottles?

I’m thinking of changing my MAM plastic anti colic bottles that I can sterilise in the microwave to the MAM glass ones. I’m fed up of washing all the components and I hate the smell of the silicone white ring, they seem to either smell of chemicals or of old milk no matter how much I clean & sterilise them. If I change to glass bottles can I sterilise them in a big pan of boiling water? If so how do I do this as I thought glass cracked in boiling water? Would I put the bottles in cold water & bring to the boil or can I just add the bottles to boiling water? Has anyone used glass bottles and had any trouble with them cracking or smashing? That’s my biggest concern & why I haven’t switched yet. I don’t want to spend more money on more bottles then don’t like them either 🤦🏻‍♀️

Not used glass bottles, but think cold water sterilising would be easiest.
