How often should nursery update Tapestry?

When we had settling in sessions it was every time, since toddler has started full days last week nothing? I know they are busy and I have no fault with them, they update well at pick up etc but does it depend on the nursery?

The new EYFS focuses on staff spending more time interacting, and less time taking photos and writing observations. Our Nursery have really cut back on paperwork for this reason. After all, if staff are behind an ipad, they aren't teaching the children. Early Years used to be so paperwork heavy, so it is refreshing to not feel we need reems of evidence. The focus is on knowing the children and being able to talk about their needs and learning. Hopefully you will get regular verbal updates about your child.

Meals, sleeping, short summary of activities everyday, eyfs once a quarter ish

Oh that's ok then, I was worried something wasn't right as it just changed from detailed observations to zero. Take it the new system came effective as of Sept 1st?

Mine are from a time before tapestry, but I could never understand how there was time to update an app whilst looking after children.
Profit margins are tight in Childcare, the price would rise if they had a SM manager

Yeah I didn't know how they were managing it tbh. As they're effectively looking after "triplets" all day at the 1 to 3 ratio so that's why I'm not jumping up and down just working things out. They work such long hours to at ours.

They probably update more frequently during the settling in sessions because they want you to feel reassured, and they want to get a baseline assessment of your child.

Frequency after that will depend on the nursery - anything between once a day and once a term could be the policy.

Ah lovely, thanks @Connie2468 I'll find that out next week x
